Sustainable Eco‑friendly Construction

Log homes from Hwy72 are both energy efficient and environmentally friendly. One of the biggest advantages of log homes is thermal mass, meaning the solid wood walls naturally absorb and store heat in the winter and stay cooler in the summer, helping maintain a more consistent indoor temperature year-round. This reduces the workload on heating and cooling systems and can improve overall energy efficiency, especially in more extreme climates. In the event of a power outage, the logs continue to release stored energy, allowing the home to hold its temperature longer than many conventional builds.

From an environmental and health standpoint, our logs are made from 100% natural wood with no added chemicals or harsh manufacturing processes, so there’s no concern about harmful off-gassing. The logs are delivered untreated, and while an exterior stain is needed for long-term protection, there are many low-VOC, environmentally friendly options available today. Altogether, it’s a building approach that supports both energy performance and a healthier living environment.
